Startup vs Small Business
“What I think we do (in startups),” [Steve] Blank says, “is that founders wake up every morning saying, ‘I don’t just want to be self-employed, I want to take over the universe, I want to change the world, I want to do something important, this is the most exciting thing I could ever do.’ “
Small businesses, on the other hand, Steve Blank, contends are those ventures that start with a small, limited scale, nary a caution to the issue of future scalability. Examples of startups could be Facebook during its inception years, and a small business could be a local pasta restaurant.
